Green Valley Recreation, often shortened to GVR, is an important part of many local home searches. The key question is whether a particular property carries membership.
Membership follows the property.
GVR’s official membership guidance says membership requires a perpetual deed restriction on a property within its boundaries. Membership passes to the next owner when a member property sells; it cannot simply be canceled. GVR membership itself is not age restricted.
Confirm the full fee picture.
GVR publishes its current dues and transaction-related fees. Ask which apply to your purchase rather than relying on an old listing, a neighborhood summary or a previous year’s figure.
Keep separate questions separate.
The property’s homeowners association, any age restrictions and its GVR status should each be verified in the relevant current documents. One does not settle the others.
Before you decide
- Verify membership status for the exact address.
- Review current annual and transfer-related fees.
- Understand which facilities and activities you expect to use.
- Get answers from the relevant association or GVR when anything is unclear.
